Liberty Fintech Challenge 2016: Winners Announcement

Verbal Access (Canada) and Aimbrain (UK) progress to PoC project phase within Liberty Group

Matchi and Liberty Group SA are proud to announce that Verbal Access (Canada) and Aimbrain (UK) have each won a category of the recent Liberty Fintech Challenge. As winners of this global challenge, both solutions will now commence with a Proof-of-Concept project within Liberty Group.

Our Global Fintech Challenge with Matchi was a first step in sourcing existing solutions which can be adapted and modified to solve customer pain points. The challenge process has successfully connected us with pioneers in their fields and our team is excited to progress with the winners on a password-less future and Liberty's own Siri. - David Lloyd, MD Innovate at Individual Arrangements.

A Liberty retail business initiative in partnership with Matchi, the challenge invited fintech firms around the world to respond with relevant, implementable solutions aligned to two customer-focused categories.

Category 1: Get an insurance quote, just by speaking to your phone
Winner: Verbal Access http://www.northsideinc.com

Category 2: Password-less authentication
Winner: Aimbrain https://aimbrain.com

The global response to the Liberty Fintech Challenge included implementable solutions from 30+ fintech firms located across 16 countries.

Each response was validated by Matchi analysts and then individually scored by a panel from Matchi and Liberty to provide a ranked list of the highest scoring responses. A second judging process confirmed a shortlist of 7 firms who were invited to present their solutions directly to the team at Liberty who in turn selected Verbal Access and Aimbrain as the outright winners.
